EXAMPLE OF A GROUP TOUR Embark on a journey of a lifetime commencing with a trip to vibrant Paris. On arrival we check-in to our Guadeloupian themed hotel for the start of our Murder Mystery adventure and enjoy an exotic cocktail to get us in the mood for the evening’s festivities as we eye up our fellow conspirators and wonder who will come to a sticky end.
During our first night in Guadeloupe one of the group will be poisoned and for the remainder of the week that person will become ‘invisible’! The remainder of the week we will gather together for much head scratching, rum tippling and suspicious glances exchanged as clues to the identity of the culprit will be unearthed and revelations revealed. All this excitement AND we tour all the favourite scenes from the TV Series, whilst enjoying everything that breathtaking Guadeloupe has to offer.
The final night’s entertainment will feature the unveiling of the culprit(s) and prizes galore for those brilliant investigators with cunning instinct who solved the cryptic clues and put another dastardly villain behind bars! Alongside all this detecting there’s plenty of fun in the sun and who knows you may even see 'Death in Paradise' being filmed in the distance (The 10th anniversary series is on BBC One at the moment and filming of a futher 2 series has been confirmed!).

Day 1: After your flight/train from the UK you'll spend your first night in Paris getting to know your fellow conspirators.
Day 2: An early flight from Paris Orly airport then lands us at Pointe-à-Pitre and Le Raizet International Airport. There you’ll be taken by transfer to your chosen accommodation at Hotel L’Auberge de la Vieille where you'll receive a welcome cocktail (will this be the one?) and settle into the hotel for the evening.
Day 3: After breakfast and a briefing on the day’s activities, it’s a visit first to the towns of Le Gosier and Sainte-Anne with stops in the Market place and le Village Artisanal (handicrafts market). We then take La Route du Rhum to reach Le Moule and a visit to our first rum distillery “Damoiseau” Top tip: try the local tipple Ti Punch (rum, sugar and a slice of lime)
Then it’s lunch in a local restaurant “La Rhumerie du Pirate” on the road to the site of famous beauty spot, La Pointe des Châteaux.
Then it’s back to the hotel with time to lounge by the pool - more rum tasting? Yes please! Or just chill before dinner!
Day 4: Today it’s an after breakfast hotel check out followed by a tour of North Basse-Terre, and the “flamboyant!” Route de la Traversée, Pointe-Noire and Deshaies.
On the Route de la Traversée we visit the Guadeloupe National Park. First stop is La Cascade aux Ecrevisses where you can bathe beneath the exhilarating waterfall. Followed by a visit to Le Parc des Mamelles featuring lush tropical vegetation, exotic birds and for the intrepid - why not channel your inner Bear Grylls and experience the terrifying rope walkway!
We then visit the picture postcard “Honoré” otherwise known as Deshaies - the main filming location of the BBC 1 TV series and famous for its Police Station and photogenic beach scenes. Depending on filming schedules you may even see 'Death in Paradise' being filmed in the distance and all the stars who are involved!
After all these activities a fine lunch is definitely in order and where better than the fabulous family run restaurant La Nova. We then transfer to our next hotel The Langley Resort Hotel Fort Royal where we’ll gather for a delicious dinner. This is the hotel used by many of the UK TV stars who fly out for individual episodes of the series, so ‘selfies’ at the ready.
Day 5: Island hopping and a stunning 20-minute ferry crossing from the port of Trois-Rivières to Terre-de-Haut the “Heavenly!” island of Les Saintes renowned for its rugged landscape, charming village with bougainvillea-shaded lanes, outstanding snorkelling and unique art galleries. We will visit the pirate headquarters of Fort Napoléon, have lunch at the Hotel Le Kanaoa followed by ‘me time’ whereby you can explore this tropical paradise with its laid back vibe. After this fabulous day trip off the beaten path we hop back on the bus to La Créole Beach Hotel in Le Gosier, the last of our 3 chosen hotels. Here we’ll have a get together, share the day, enjoy a drink or three and savour more fabulous local cuisine.
Day 6: Today it’s a visit to the largest city and economic centre of Guadeloupe - Pointe à Pitre - browse the bustling markets where the fragrant perfume of armomatic spices fill the air and tropical produce is sold by the flamboyantly dressed vendors. After a fascinating tour of the city take time out to wander the lively squares, enjoy a cup of coffee near the Place de la Victoire, people watch and marvel at the older streets lined with colourful 19th-century buildings
We’re then back on the La Route du Rhum and lunch at La Marina Bas-du-Fort.
Our final visit of the afternoon is to the award winning Le Mémorial ACTe, a place of remembrance, of understanding and of reconciliation paying tribute to the millions of destinies and lives shattered by the slave trade.
Then it’s back to the hotel to relax and dinner.
Day 7: Today our own Catamaran departs after breakfast, directly from our hotel to le Grand-Cul-de-Sac Marin Nature Reserve (Did you know: this Nature Reserve boasts the longest coral reef in the lesser Antilles?)
With time for sun bathing, swimming, snorkelling, paddling or for those who don’t want to get their feet wet – plenty of liquid refreshment, we’ll then have lunch at the wonderous Îlet La Biche. (A sandbar in the middle of the sea)!
Then it’s back to our hotel and time to get ready for the climax to the week: The Final Dinner, the unmasking of the culprit(s) and the prize giving ceremony that will carry on until the wee small hours. (What! - We haven’t mentioned anything about clues during the week? I hear you say! That’s because you had to spot them for yourselves!!!)
Day 8: After a leisurely breakfast it’s time to check-out and have a Tour of the Windward Coast of Basse-Terre (Petit-Bourg, Goyave, Capesterre-Belle-Eau, Bananier).
We’ll have lunch in the National Park, at Les Jardins de Valombreuse – Petit-Bourg; discover one of Guadeloupe’s largest recreational nature parks– a stunning haven in the heart of the rainforest.
Then it’s a transfer to Pôle Caraïbes International Airport and an evening departure to Paris Orly Airport.
Day 9: An early morning arrival into Paris Orly and a choice of more ‘le shopping’ time in Paris or head for home by train or plane!
